The North Western Regional Fisheries Board

The North Western Fisheries Region stretches from Mullaghmore Head, Co. Sligo to Pigeon Point, Clew Bay, Co. Mayo. It includes the catchments of all rivers and lakes that flow into the sea between these two points as well as the coastal areas.The region possesses some of the finest salmon and trout waters in Europe and also enjoys first class sea angling.

Cathedral Beat, Moy River

The North Western Region is home to the mighty Moy River which produces the best cathces of salmon each year. Loughs Conn and Cullin also provide excellent trout fishing salmon angling.

Its coarse fish resources are relatively limited but nonetheless significant and of excellent quality. There are over 20 coarse angling venues where the angler can expect quality pike, some excellent bream stocks and good rudd. There are of course plenty of perch, some hybrids and even a few waters with carp.
