Central and Regional Fishery Boards Catch & Release Incentive Scheme
The Central and Regional Fishery Boards have introduced a national incentive scheme to encourage anglers to practice catch and release when angling for wild Atlantic Salmon.
The scheme is intended to acknowledge anglers who practice catch and release during the 2007 angling season. Catch and Release merit pins and badges will be awarded on the following basis:
- Gold for over fifteen salmon caught and released,
- Silver between ten and fourteen salmon caught and released,
- Bronze between five and nine salmon caught and released,
- Sew on badge suitable for fishing jackets one salmon caught and released
By submitting a catch and release application you are automatically entered into a prize draw.
Outline of prizes
- One days fishing on the Ridge Pool in Ballina (Subject to availability)
- One days fishing on the Galway weir
- One days fishing on the River Laune or Blackwater
- 100 Euro voucher to spend in any tackle shop
How to enter
Entry forms are available to download on our website. Alternatively, email info@cfb.ie and put “Catch and Release Prize Scheme” in the subject line and supply your name and address. Forms may also be requested from the Project Officer 01/8842692.
Opening date
The Catch and Release Incentive Scheme will run from the 31st January 2007
Closing date
The closing date for receipt of applications is the 19th October 2007
Submitting the application
All completed applications must be submitted to the Catch & Release Incentive Scheme, Central Fisheries Board, Swords Business Campus, Swords, Co. Dublin.
